About Classical Guitar Weekend


The tenth annual Classical Guitar Weekend at the Cleveland Institute of Music (Jason Vieaux, CIM Guitar Department Chair) will take place Friday, May 21 through Sunday, May 23, 2010.

Please join this season's roster of internationally acclaimed concert artists, composers, teachers and scholars in a concentrated series of recitals, world premiere performances, master classes, lecture presentations and exhibits celebrating art music - solo and ensemble, old and new.

Classical Guitar Weekend is presented in the heart of University Circle - Cleveland, Ohio's world renowned cultural and educational center - by Guitars International in cooperation with the Cleveland Institute of Music with generous additional support from Galli Genius Strings, the Cleveland community and beyond. 

The diverse geographic origins (fifteen states and as many foreign countries) of our artists and audience members and the even more diverse time and geographic origins of the composers whose works our artists perform, testify to the fact that the musical arts we celebrate here are now - more than ever - timeless, heartfelt and universal.
