Overview: Swedish master, Thomas Fredholm, is Scandinavia's premiere maker of fine handcrafted classical guitars. The guitar offered here is Thomas Fredholm's elegant Homage to the great Antonio de Torres' 1890 SE 141 guitar. Fredholm's lovely Torres Homage is a standout for its feather light shallow body construction, jack rabbit response, overall dark rich unusually solid fundamental tones, clear trebles and particularly deep resonant basses. Recently, Thomas Fredholm was honored to have
David Russell purchase one of his beautiful Torres Homage classical guitars. Antonio de Torres died in 1892, making his SE 141 guitar one of the last instruments this now iconic Spanish master crafted. Both the original Torres guitar and Fredholm's Homage have a standard 650mm string length.
The overall body size of both guitars is fairly small: The sides measure between 79 and 82mm deep, the body length is 475mm, the upper bout width is 261mm, the waist width is 220mm and the lower bout width is 340mm. The rosette in Fredholm's SE141 Homage is inspired by a rosette from another of Torres' guitars - a particularly elegant example which captured this gifted Swedish luthier's artistic fancy.
